Most granite benefits from periodic sealing, though some denser varieties need it less frequently. We perform a water test to determine if your specific granite needs sealing. Place a few drops of water on the surface and check whether it darkens within a few minutes. If it does, sealing helps protect against stains. Typically, sealing once or twice per year works well for most Atlanta homes. The process takes just minutes and uses products available at any hardware store. __ __ What's the difference between quartz and quartzite, and which should I choose? This confuses people all the time because the names sound similar. Quartzite is a natural stone formed from sandstone under heat and pressure.
